Celebrity chef, author and TV personality Kwoklyn Wan, tied the knot with his beautiful bride Jo Wan, in an intimate ceremony at the Lancaster Arms, a privately hired pub in Leicester. The wedding was a beautiful and intimate affair, with a small group of close friends and family in attendance. Having my own Husband there too, was an added bonus. Nothing like bring your husband to work day! But this was no ordinary work day, the wan family are my family. Kwoklyn and Jo are dear friends. This wedding was something extra special for me. Plus I get to be a celebrity wedding photographer for the day.
The Handmade silk wedding dress
The bride, Jo, looked stunning in a handmade red silk dress that complimented her figure perfectly. The dress was a showstopper and it was clear that a lot of thought and care had gone into its creation. Red is an important colour in Chinese culture. You can expect to see a lot of red at a Chinese wedding. The groom, Kwoklyn, looked dashing in a black suit and a waistcoat made of golden silk. The two made a stunning couple. My favourite moment of the day was helping Jo lace up her dress and watch her transform into a glowing goddess. Such a moment.
The ceremony itself was simple and elegant. The couple exchanged vows under a beautiful floral arch of Autumn colours, surrounded by their closest friends and family. The atmosphere was one of love and joy, and it was clear that everyone was there to celebrate the love of Kwoklyn and Jo. Having known them both for so long, I felt pretty emotional to finally see them get married.
The reception was a lively and fun-filled affair, with delicious food, drinks, and music. Kwoklyn, being a celebrity chef, had ordered a mouth-watering menu that featured the most amazing roast dinner and the guests were treated to a culinary experience like no other. The drinks flowed freely, and the guests danced the night away, celebrating the love of the newlyweds. Atomic Kitten’s Kerry Katona sung and impromptu version of ‘Whole again’ which was just fabulous. A good old fashioned sing song put us all in high spirits.
Updating CV to read Celebrity Wedding Photographer extrordinaire
One of my highlights was making (and drinking) cocktails with Kwoklyn’s brother Gok Wan. It’s not everyday that I’m behind a bar making cocktails with one of the most famous faces in Britain. Maybe celebrity wedding photographer should go on my CV.. makes note to amend that as soon as possible. It was so much fun and the Staff at The Lancaster Arms were incredible. Safe to say I’m not giving up the day job, my cocktails making skills are questionable at best.
As a photographer, it was an honor to capture such a special and intimate occasion. The love between Kwoklyn and Jo was evident in every moment, and it was a privilege to be able to document their special day.
