Sian and Callum were full of excitement when I first spoke to them about their wedding at Holmewood Hall. I knew they were my kind of couple once they said we are thinking of having Spencer Sax play for their first dance. Having met Spencer Sax at a few weddings, I know the vibe they were going for, and I was all for it. Think chilled Ibiza classics and dance anthems.

Party aside, they wanted a their ceremony at their local Church in Ramsey and then a venue where everyone can eat drink and be merry. A wedding at Holmewood Hall offered all this and more, so was the perfect choice. Only issue being the date they picked, was in 4 months time! Yes you read that right. 4 months to plan a wedding from scratch.  As my panic set in on their behalf, there wasn’t the slightest hint of worry for Sian and Callum. They had everything under control.  We met up for some pre wedding shots. They were relaxed and had the most positive outlook on everything. What will be will be right?

Wedding planning perfection

Well as it turns out, they are pretty good at wedding planning. Everything was incredible and everyone loved it. No one would have guessed they had planned the entire day in just 4 months. I have been to weddings that have taken 2 years to plan and there was no difference. The only real difference was possibly their attitude. This positive attitude that they both took allowed them freedom to enjoy the day, not get tied up in the details and shrug off anything that didn’t make them smile. Maybe we can all take something from this?

I’ve asked Sian an Callum to recap their day for anyone else planning a Wedding at  Holmewood Hall with short notice.

What was the highlight of your wedding day/ favourite moment?

For us, the highlight of our day was partying with Spencer Sax, he really made our day! Our favourite moment was seeing all the little flower girls at the front of the Church during the ceremony – they were the cutest telling each other to shh, eating raisins off the floor and waving at us whilst the vicar was reading a prayer!

Would you do anything differently?

After a long think, we honestly wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding day , loved every second.  It all ran smoothly and to plan!

Describe your day in 3 words

Unforgettable, fun and perfect.

Any advice for future couples planning their wedding at Holmewod Hall?

We got married within 4 months and doing it quickly, for us, was the best decision we made! Planning a wedding in little time, meant we couldn’t change our mind 23821 times. No time to stress. Just had to be organised, and obviously make sure we had the money to pay for what we wanted.
Definitely do what YOU want! Other people will air their thoughts and have opinions, but it’s so important you have the day that you have dreamed of.  This means, because we planned a day exactly how we wanted, we were so happy and have no regrets at all!
No matter what happens, you will have the best day.

One of my bridesmaids was in labour a week before the wedding, but you just have to keep stress to a minimum.

Make sure to find some time on the wedding day where it is JUST the two of you. We drove in a car from the church to the reception venue just the two of us, and we loved this time. It was the only time throughout the whole day we had with just us. Also paying for a videographer is 100% worth every penny as it captures your day so beautifully.

One last thing, What was it like being photographed all day? Did I drive you mad?

Honestly, we couldn’t even tell you were there – it just felt like you were a guest at our wedding. You completely blended in (even with amazing pink hair and matching jacket!), making sure our photos were natural and in the moment, which is just what we wanted. We felt no pressure at all to ‘pose perfectly’ or ‘get the perfect shot’ and because we were very chill about the whole situation, it meant our photos were captured perfectly.
You kept our nerves at ease and went above and beyond for us – it feels like we are entering married life with a new friend in you Sarah.
