We kick off at Pea Cottage, just down the road from Sissons Barn wedding venue. There’s a buzz in the air, and even the ominous rain clouds can’t dampen the excitement. The girls are all getting hair and make up done by Lux Beauty Peterborough https://www.luxebeautypeterborough.com/realbrides and they all look stunning. Procecco and pastries on the go, dress hanging in waiting and the sun beginning to peak out of the clouds. I couldn’t sleep the night before, way too excited, standard behaviour for my brain.
After a few hours of preparation a sleek red Bentley arrived to whisk the bride away. Talk about making an entrance! Tayla was an absolute vision, raindrops and all. The freak storm was already beginning to disapear. The ceremony was beautiful and the rain that had been chucking it down during the morning had stoped just in time for confetti. I had a moment of genuine fear that it was gonna rain all day, but as usual it never does.

Sessions Barn wedding reception
I have photographed a few weddings at Sissons Barn and each time this venue surprises me. This time it was the decor, the space is so versatile that every wedding looks different and I guess thats important. No one wants a carbon copy of someone else’s day . The table plan was something new. We’re talking cricket bats with names on them Yep, you read that right. It was Ed’s little nod to his love for the game. Mrs. Bees Flowers did her thing and provided the Bride and bridesmaid with the most gorgeous blooms you’ve ever seen. Check out her work here https://mrsbeesflowercompany.co.uk
And to top it all off, there was this neon “Mr. and Mrs.” sign shining bright behind the top table. Classy with a hint of quirkiness – just the way we like it!
A super cute highlight was Tayla, Ed, and their little one riding off into the sunset (well, sort of) on the back of a tractor. Then came speeches. We had tears, we had laughter, we had everything in between. It was emotional, it was heartwarming, and it was downright hilarious.

Dance floor
A few evening group shots later with the wedding party and it was time for the other the other shots, the ones you drink. The real party started when the dance floor opened up. Tayla and Ed’s crew wasted no time getting down and dancingthe night away with an awesome live band! The dance floor was packed which is always a favourite moment. Again there may have been some questionable dance moves from me, but, that’s standard issue now.
