Hey Wedding Family.
My latest outing took me further up north, for a Peak Edge Hotel wedding. The Journey up had been fairly easy but I was dreading the snow fall that was predicted the day before. Lucky for me the roads were clear. I was fuelled by coffee and ready for the day ahead. As the morning sun tried its dam hardest to peek through the clouds, I found myself in the midst of wedding preparations.
The room was a hive of activity, buzzing with excitement and a hint of nervous anticipation. Hair and makeup stations were in full swing and the wedding dress was hanging in the window waiting for it’s big moment. Avoiding all temptation to grab it and try it on, I dug out my camera and got to work.
As if on cue, the door swung open, and in came the most breathtaking array of flowers. Some thistles and winter colours. Perfect for a winter wedding. I love seeing new floral designs. The addition of the thistles is a great idea for anyone wanting something a little less spring like.
A Church Affair and Sweet Delights
The ceremony was a uplifting, with the couple exchanging vows surrounded by family and friends. The star of the show was their dog, Cercie, who played ring bearer. The most well behaved dog ever by the way. Put my 2 dogs to shame. Mind you they are Sausage dogs so not really dogs. The rain may have been persistent outside, but inside the church, love was winning. A delightful surprise awaited the guests – a mouthwatering display of donuts! These delectable treats added a touch of whimsy to the day.
I didn’t scoff one even though I was tempted. I was saving myself for dinner! The Groom is a dab hand in the Kitchen so I knew the menu would be incredible…which it was. The Peak Edge Hotel wedding team are great and know how to throw a party.
Peak Edge Hotel Wedding Reception
Back at the Peak Edge Hotel we let the guests settle in to the drinks reception while we snuck off for some couple portraits. Eager to make the most of the picturesque surroundings, we braved the cold and took a leisurely stroll through the hotel’s stunning grounds. The dark clouds and drizzle were not going to stop us.
As the night progressed, the dance floor beckoned, and the newlyweds took center stage for their first dance. The party was officially started by the bride and her sister attempting the worm on the dance floor.
