Hey there, wedding family, I spent Monday being a London wedding photographer, for the second of our Collective wedding workshops. Our aim, as always is working together with other industry suppliers to bring accessible styled shoots to fellow wedding photographers. So what better way to kick start our first workshop of the year that running off for a London elopement.
Kick off at King’s Cross
We kicked things off at King’s Cross, where the vibes were as colourful as the Flower Still installation itself. Fuelled by caffeine and creative buzz, our photographers assembled, including the fierce Sophie Hayward, rocking a suit with a killer bow back detail. The first shots are aways the hardest as everyone gets to grips with each other and where to place themselves. But after 5 mins we were settled in and getting the shots we needed.
Tube Ride to St. Paul’s
Next stop? St. Paul’s Cathedral, via the iconic London Underground. This was a high light for me, as I have wanted a slow shutter shot in the underground for like…forever. So having the opportunity to create that was exciting. Emerging into the daylight, we were met with the jaw-dropping backdrop of Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece, St Pauls Cathedral. I spent a lot of time growing up in London and it still has a hold on me now. The contrast of old and new architectural designs are a gorgeous back drop, and have always inspired me to want to be a London Wedding Photographer.
Sophie strutted her stuff while our cameras went into overdrive, capturing moments dripping with insta worthy content.
LONDON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER- Ultimate backdrop
Tower Bridge was up next, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Against the glistening waters of the Thames, Sophie and her real life new husband Lewis (CONGRATULATIONS BTW), turned up the heat, their chemistry was on point. This was the point the heels got kicked off and the converse went on. We all managed to create something different which is what we wanted. The whole point of being a collective, is the learning and trying new things with new people. We all stood in the same spot but each one of us captured something different.
Coal Yard Cool
Last but not least, we hit up Coal Drop Yard for some dinner. To say we were hungry would be an understatement. Burger and Chips never tasted so good. We finished our London wedding photographer day out, with some water fountains and a cheeky little sunset.
