Hengrave Hall | European summer meets classic English heritage

Can I just say before we get into this , that weddings like this do not happen every day. Megan and Ben’s Hengrave Hall wedding was everything a celebration should be. Yes it was elegant, black tie vibes and sexy, but it was also fun, and full of personal detail. Set in the heart of Suffolk, this gorgeous wedding brought timeless style to one of the UK’s most exclusive wedding venues, Hengrave Hall. When fashion meets heritage, you get weddings like this.

Bridal Preparations in the Hengrave Hall Suite

My day started with a Costa coffee, a fluffy croissant and a 1.5 hour drive. Then the first stop was  Hengrave Hall bridal suite, a room made for fashion forward brides who want to feel extra special on their wedding morning. Megan got ready surrounded by her closest friends, champagne in hand, wearing her engagement ring and some some bridal PJs. It felt extremely relaxed, exactly how mornings like this should feel. Oh and the dress, did I mention the dress? Maybe I can do an entire blog on there dress. STUNNING!

A Church Ceremony Just Steps Away

One of the things that makes Hengrave Hall unique is the on-site chapel, and Megan and Ben made full use of it. Guests wandered over from the hall to the chapel, just before the ceremony. The heat was intense, with the midday sun creating those harsh shadows we come to expect from holiday photos off the coast of Italy. The atmosphere inside the chapel was intimate and reverent, candles glowing, fashionably dressed guests and a string quartet setting the mood for nod to the English heritage of Hengrave Hall. The slightly cooler climate was an added bonus and welcome relief.

Terrace Drinks & Editorial Vibes

After the I dos, the drinks reception kicked off on the terrace overlooking the gardens. Bow ties loosened, martinis flowed, and the whole vibe screamed European summer meets classic English heritage. It had all the hallmarks of an editorial shoot: elegant styling, designer details, and those beautifully imperfect moments that make it real.

Guests moved into the grand hall for the wedding breakfast, where a live pianist played Megan and Ben’s favourite songs,  a personal touch that gave the room a real sense of intimacy. The table styling was bold yet refined: crisp linens, heavy florals, and gold accents that matched the setting. The whole thing felt like a Vogue shoot with a side of good champagne. There was a kitch, pink, heart shaped wedding cake that wouldn’t look out of place in a 1980s Vegas wedding.

Black Tie Meets Personality

What I loved most about Megan and Ben’s Hengrave Hall wedding was how stylish and personal it was. The fashion was on point, hello tuxedos , tails and statement heels (not all on the same person) but it never felt too formal. Just two people throwing a high end party with their favourite people, in one of the UK’s most iconic wedding venues.
