Hey there, wedding family! Today, I’m thrilled to share some Christmas wedding magic at The Falcon Hotel in Uppingham. This one’s filled with Christmas cheer, surprise Rolls-Royce rides and more festive fun than an elf high on candy canes.
Christmas Wedding, Oakham
Our Christmas Wedding starts at 9am at the bride’s mother’s house, where laughter and hairspray filled the air as the bride and her bridesmaids got glammed up for the big day. I may have arrived a tad early…over excited much? Cascading curls, beautiful makeup and the odd bottle of fizz popping. PERFECT! It was a chilled morning but most importantly it was s dry morning. The weather leading up to the wedding was wet and windy, so we were all relieved to see the blue sky poking through the clouds.
As hair a makeup was coming to an end and the dress was about to go on, a white Rolls-Royce pulled up. Unbeknown to the bride, her groom had organised it secret, only the bridesmaids knew. Let me tell you, that moment was pure magic. Nothing says “I’m getting married” quite like a luxurious ride to the church in a Rolls-Royce!
A short hop, skip, and a jump (or a graceful Rolls-Royce ride) later, we found ourselves at the church just two minutes away. The festive spirit was high as guests eagerly awaited the bride’s entrance. The groom sat patiently waiting, then stood, then sat and finally stood again to greet his bride. I guess it beats pacing the aisle.
Guests dressed in in deep reds, greens and blacks. Couldn’t have been more christmassy if we tried …well, we could have worn Santa hats. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of tradition and holiday magic. Christmas lights, trees and stars filled the church. It ws pretty special.
Christmas Wedding Reception
Fast forward to the reception at the Falcon Hotel where the staff had Champagne ready for their arrival. Two ice cold glasses waiting as they newlyweds pulled up in the Rolls. How very glam. The warm atmosphere of the hotel paired perfectly with the twinkling lights that adorned the town. Uppingham is a beautiful little town, and at Christmas time it is even prettier. Seriously, the whole place was a photographer’s dream. It’s not always easy shooting in winter , in the dark or in older buildings, but having the Christmas lights everywhere made it so much more inviting.

With the town decked out in festive lights, and a huge Christmas tree, capturing photos was an absolute joy. The bride, groom, and their lively bunch of friends and family made every shot a pleasure to capture. The speeches are, as always, emotional and , at times, funny . The handmade Christmas tree doughnut wall for Krispy Kreme’s , brilliant. Not sure who enjoyed that more , the children or the adults. I take a look to the right to see a tower, or was it a Cheese cake (I’m not actually sure what we are calling it) but it was a great touch. Wheels of cheese elegantly stacked and adorned with fruit , ready for the crackers later in the evening.
Alright, party people, let’s wrap up this modern fairytale! I could go on for ages. Rachel and Jayson’s Christmas wedding at Falcon Hotel was an absolute blast. The chilled-out vibes and relaxed atmosphere made capturing those candid shots a breeze. It’s no secret, I thrive on those unscripted moments, and this wedding was a goldmine.
I throughly enjoyed every wedding 2023. I love every couple who trust me with such an important job. Never want this crazy ride to end. Next up is a new years Eve Wedding at the William Cecil…ROLL ON 2024!
