Hey folks, Another day another wedding, I’ve just hit the jackpot with Chloe and Gus’s magical day at Donnington Park Farm House. If you are looking for wedding venues in Leicestershire area with a barn , great views of rolling hillside and a unique dining experience, this could be worth checking out.
Our day started with bridal preparations and a quick toor round the venue. My assistant on the day Hayley, looked after the boys and spend some time meeting guests as they arrived in the courtyard. She weaved her way through the crowd, capturing candid moments of anticipation. I hung out with the girls and got to admire the 2 wedding dresses Chloe had ready for the day. The little sequinned number for the evening looked pretty good, and I do love a change of outfit.
The Grand Barn Wedding Venue In Leicestershire
Now, let’s talk about the main event – the ceremony at the majestic barn. The barn, adorned with twinkling fairy lights and surrounded by the warm glow of candles, looked like something out of a dream. It was rustic elegance at its finest. Really dark to shoot in but with a bit of work in light room all would be saved. I have been told that this is one of the oldest Barn wedding Venues in Leicestershire.
Chloe, the stunning bride, floated down the aisle like a vision in white, with her older brother by her side. Gus looking dapper and utterly besotted as he watched her arrive. Mum and brides maids may have had a little teary eyed moment, much to my delight, all captured and documented of course!. These are the moments I live for, the reaction from the guests . If you can make your guests cry or laugh that would be amazing…take note.
Dining in a pig sty
One stand out moment was the seating arrangements. Unusual to say the least. It took me a few moments to realise where we were. If the idea of eating in original Pig Sties appeals to you then Donnington park farm House is the place for you. Each table was situated in it own little pig sty. Tables always look gorgeous at weddings and this was no different. Covering tables green and white folaige has to be up there in my favourite types of styling. It adds a timeless quality that I know will still look beautiful in 10 years time. However I do love unique details in weddings, makes every day in the office different.
Sparklers and Shenanigans: An Evening to Remember
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the party shifted gears, and the real fun began. Donnington Park Farm allowed us to organise a sparkler send off. Sparklers in hand, the newlyweds made a grand exit from the barn, surrounded by a sea of twinkling lights. I always joke that walking backwards, in the dark, in a tunnel of pyrotechnics held by intoxicated wedding guests is not easy, but it is fun to live dangerously. It was a great send off, like a scene from a fairytale – only better because it was Chloe and Gus’s fairytale not some made up Disney one, with god awful songs that get stuck in your head.
