Exciting news just landed, I have been shortlisted for the British Photography Awards. Yep, for the Second year in a row. This is a huge deal for me as it is way out of my comfort zone and the line up of photographers beyond impressive. Some huge names in the industry and little old me is up there with them.
British Photography Awards 2023
Being shortlisted for the British Photography Awards for the second year running is a surreal. Like the first time wasn’t the fluke or mistake I thought it was. What a buzz kill imposter syndrome is! The first time around was an honour in itself, but to receive this recognition again is a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication that I pour into every wedding. It’s a reminder of the incredible couples I’ve had the privilege of photographing. Their trust in my vision is so important. This year, I feel even more driven to continue pushing my boundaries and capturing unforgettable moments.
Awards Ceremony
The British Photography Awards ceremony last year was nothing short of spectacular. Held at the historic Dorchester Hotel in London, the evening exuded elegance and opulence. A far cry from my usual leggings and hoody combo, saved for my hours of editing. The Awards ceremony itself was a true highlight of the evening. As each category winner was announced, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the remarkable work on display. The diversity of styles and approaches reminded me of the boundless possibilities photography offers. It was a testament to the power of visual storytelling.
Food and Drinks were included in our tickets and the food did not disappoint. Plenty of free drinks all night may have helped put us all in the party mood!

There are 2 Main awards, one Judged by a panel of industry experts and one is a public vote. I would love it if you could spare a minute of your time and click to vote in the public awards. My image is a of my couple Laura and Lloyd taken on the coldest day of the year up in Scotland. I called it Narnia wedding, as it looked like it was straight out of the pages of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Obviously I would love to win this year but the competition is pretty fierce, so your support would be a huge help.
