One of the things that sets Rushpool Hall apart from other wedding venues is its stunning location. Tucked away in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside, the hall is surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens and woodlands. Making it the perfect backdrop for any wedding. I knew that whatever the British weather was going to throw at us, we ere going to have a great wedding day. My beautiful Couple, Andrew and Jessica had booked an awesome venue and I couldn’t wait to get started!
As I made my way through the gardens to the hall, I couldn’t help but marvel at the stunning architecture of the building. Built in the Victorian era, the hall has been lovingly restored to its former glory, with its beautiful stone façade and grand entranceway making for some truly memorable wedding photographs.
Relaxed vibes in an Elegant setting
Inside the hall, the décor is a perfect blend of traditional elegance and modern comfort, with luxurious furnishings and stylish accents adding to the overall sense of sophistication. But what really sets Rushpool Hall apart is its fun and relaxed atmosphere. Despite its grandeur and elegance, the hall has a warm and welcoming vibe that immediately puts everyone at ease. This is especially true of the staff, who go out of their way to ensure that every wedding is a memorable and stress-free experience.
Dogs in wedding parties are my favourite!
Did I mention the official best man or should I say Best dog Duggie? Well he absolutely stole the show. Dogs at weddings are always a winner in my books.
The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was full of fun and frolics. The casino tables for the evening entertainment were a great way to get both families mixing as one.
I asked my couple for their best bits from their wedding day…
What was the highlight of your day/ favourite moment?
Spending the time alone together after the ceremony doing the photographs felt special. It was also great fun having a laugh and chatting about everything that had just happened. My personal favourite moment was turning round and seeing Jessica at the top of the aisle. It was a long 24 hours apart, and I was looking forward to seeing my best friend in the stressful moment. She looked incredible! Other notable mentions, our favourite part of the evening was our nephew running around the venue with Duggie on the lead, I think everyone except us thought he was out of control!

Beautiful, party, food
What was it like mixing both your families and friends, did everyone enjoy themselves?
I think it went pretty well! There was a lot of mixing for the entertainment stuff which seemed to help. We had to warn the venue that the bar might be busy so to put on extra staff and the family didn’t disappoint! We felt bad about making everyone travel so far. So we made it half way for each family. I think the main people we care about were there. They seemed to all love the day so it was a big win in our eyes.
Any advice for future couples planning their wedding?
Don’t worry about tradition, just plan the wedding that you want to have. Do what you think would be nice and spend what you want to spend. Try not to let anyone else tell you what you “should” be doing. We’re big planners, maybe that’s our jobs or maybe we’re just overly enthusiastic about spreadsheets, but we did a lot of work to make sure things flowed well, and everyone was entertained and happy throughout the day. I think my main takeaway from the actual day was that the people you care about will make it there no matter what. They’re just happy to see you happy. So we probably could have dialled it back a few notches and still had a great day.
I also think don’t worry too much about the things you’ve done. As long as you’re not going into crazy debt or anything, enjoy it as the day it’s meant to be. We bought way too much food and snacks. Everyone got lots to take home with them and there was lots of choices throughout the day. Don’t worry about whether you should have done less/spent less, just enjoy it!
