When I walked back into Holmewood Hall for the Second time this month, I saw the elegant wedding style that Richard and Amy had gone for, and knew instantly, that this was their wedding. It completely matched their personalities. It wasn’t loud and exaggerated, it was an elegant wedding style that that quietly reflected them as a couple.

One of the most important things about wedding photography is understanding how to work with the light. The lighting at Holmewood Hall was absolutely perfect for creating timeless images. The large windows allowed for soft, natural light to flood the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. And when the sun began to set, the soft golden light made for gorgeous photos. Not quite the summer sunsets just yet but gorgeous none the less.

Of course, the real stars of the show were the bride and groom. Not the venue or the Elegant wedding style they went for. They were such a lovely couple, and it was clear from the moment I met them that they were head over heels in love.  My job is to capture that love in a way that feels authentic and true to who they are as a couple, it’s always so much easier when my couple are as chilled as Richard and Amy.

“The day went so much quicker than we thought it would”

I also had the pleasure of working with some incredible suppliers who helped make the day so special. Keepsakes of Yaxley provided the flowers, and they were absolutely breathtaking. The arrangements were a perfect match for the elegant wedding stye and romantic feel of the day. The team at Keepsakes of Yaxley really went above and beyond to create a magical atmosphere for the couple and their guests.

And let’s not forget about the cake. Sunflower Patisserie created a work of art that not only looked amazing but tasted even better. The staff, as always, were on point. Helping to organise sparkler shots and keeping everything on time. Always a pleasure to be here.

“You made us feel so relaxed it was like having a friend out with you”

One of the things I love most about wedding photography is that every wedding is unique. Even if I’ve shot at a particular venue before, every couple brings their own style and personality to the day. That’s why it’s so important for me to really get to know my couples before the big day. I want to understand their vision for the wedding and how I can capture that in my photos.

I caught up with Amy after the wedding to find out what their highlight was.

“Our Highlight was having all our friends and family together, all dressed up, looking lovely and celebrating with us”
